Twenty Days Later

Here it is 20 days since my last post.  My job is killing my crafting time.  Only scheduled to work three days a week...I am working 5-6.  They aren't short days either.  I'm doing 12 hour shifts.  But anyway...I just finished watching HBO's Game of Thrones with my husband.  I wish I had used the time to cut out paper flowers (I am still working on that wreath), but all I did was veg-out.  C'est la vie.  It's 12 a.m. time to get to work before my little niece makes her appearance <3

Blue is my FAVORITE Color

I am obsessed with....BLUE!  That's right.   Frankly, it's been the sole color of my affection since the 9th grade when I begged my mother to decorate my entire room in blue and white inspired by a plate (much like the ones below) I picked up at Pier 1 Imports.  There were lots of cobalt blue accents and multiple glass bottles lined my dresser used to hold bracelets I made daily.

In my 20s the palette changed to baby blue, white, and yellow.  I admit it wasn't very sophisticated, but during that time I gave birth to 2 sons, Alexander & Maxwell.  Baby blue was everywhere, and I loved it!  In the boy's rooms, the living room, my bedroom.  It looked like one giant blue Easter egg exploded in my home.  My poor husband never once complained about it.  Bless him.

Now, my obsession with blue is a bit more sophisticated (at least I'd like to think so), and I have diversified my color palette to include all shades of blue.  Although my home (I rent) is a work in progress I find that I am continually drawn to aqua blue.  Toss pillows for my mocha colored couch, new glass lamps and fluffy blanket from Target, bathroom rugs, antique dinnerware that was a gift from my mother.  It permeates my design sense, and I find myself drawn to anything in that shade.  I simply cannot help myself.  I hope that as I make an effort to redesign my home I use a little caution when buying things so that I don't end up in aqua overload.
