In my 20s the palette changed to baby blue, white, and yellow. I admit it wasn't very sophisticated, but during that time I gave birth to 2 sons, Alexander & Maxwell. Baby blue was everywhere, and I loved it! In the boy's rooms, the living room, my bedroom. It looked like one giant blue Easter egg exploded in my home. My poor husband never once complained about it. Bless him.
Now, my obsession with blue is a bit more sophisticated (at least I'd like to think so), and I have diversified my color palette to include all shades of blue. Although my home (I rent) is a work in progress I find that I am continually drawn to aqua blue. Toss pillows for my mocha colored couch, new glass lamps and fluffy blanket from Target, bathroom rugs, antique dinnerware that was a gift from my mother. It permeates my design sense, and I find myself drawn to anything in that shade. I simply cannot help myself. I hope that as I make an effort to redesign my home I use a little caution when buying things so that I don't end up in aqua overload.

I, too, was obsessed with blue when I was growing up - I wanted my mom to paint my room blue, but she insisted on adding in a fair share of pink.
ReplyDeleteI noticed you have a son named Maxwell - we have a 2 year old named Max after my Grandfather. It was a pretty uncommon name when we decided upon it, and I imagine it was even more so when you chose it...but now it's everywhere.
I can't wait to see your finished flower wreath...I haven't had time to try one yet, but I love it so much.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care, Erin
